Organic Pennyroyal From Chalkidiki, Tzekos, 40g
Pennyroyal is the smallest of the Mints and very different in habit from any of the others. Pennyroyal was commonly used as a cooking herb by the Greeks and Romans. The ancient Greeks often flavored their wine with pennyroyal. A large number of the recipes in the Roman cookbook of Apicius call for the use of pennyroyal, often along with such herbs as oregano and coriander. Although it was commonly used for cooking in the Middle Ages too, it gradually fell out of use as a culinary herb just to be back strong today. The leaves of the plant were used to flavor pudding, too. Put it in your roast pork, your chicken stews, add it in tomato sauces, it will give a great flavor. Tzekos Pennyroyal is organic.
